Source Protection Plan Amendments
The South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Committee is currently conducting Pre-Consultation on the following amendments:
Woods of Manilla
The South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe and Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Committees both need to make amendments to their Assessment Reports because 2 new wells are being added to the Woods of Manilla drinking water system and two wells are being decommissioned. This community straddles the boundary between both Source Protection Regions so both Assessment Reports are impacted.
- Two new wells are being added.
- Two wells being decommissioned (one that failed and one that is in the South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Region).
We are conducting this required joint Pre-Consultation Phase until December 4, 2025 on the following document:
Durham Region – Cannington & Sunderland
The South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Committees have made amendments to the Lake Simcoe Assessment Report and the Source Protection Plan to reflect a well being replaced in Sunderland, and a wellhead protection area – issue contributing area (WHPA-ICA) for nitrate being delineated for the Cannington drinking water system. Policies in the Source Protection Plan for commercial fertilizer and agricultural source material within WHPA-ICAs for nitrate have been revised as a part of these updates.
