Shelburne Water Supply Changes: Public Consultation

Shelburne Water Supply Changes: Public Consultation

Newmarket – May 14, 2015

The municipal well supplies for the Town of Shelburne in the Nottawasaga Valley Source Protection Area have undergone some changes recently. The addition of Well 7 (located just west of Shelburne town limits, north of Highway 89, Melancthon) and the decommissioning of Well 2 (Dufferin Street, south of Highway 89) have required that we update the technical Assessment Reports to capture the changes to the vulnerable areas and potential threat counts.

Approved Source Protection Plan policies will apply in the updated vulnerable areas.

The updated chapters of the technical Assessment Reports can be found online here:
- Nottawasaga Valley - Shelburne Chapter #6
- Nottawasaga Valley - Shelburne Chapter #6 Appendix

We are reaching out to local residents and implementing bodies to advise that these changes have taken place and invite comments by June 19, 2015.

Area residents can also find our notice in the local newspaper, Shelburne Free Press, in its May 14 and 21 editions.

Comments from the public or implementing bodies are due by June 19, 2015 and may be submitted by mail, fax or e-mail:
